What is the VAIO IRSP (International Repair Service Program)?

The VAIO IRSP provides free of charge hardware repair of your VAIO notebook in the designated countries for the period specified in the Regulations, Warranty, EULA and Service Support document from the date of purchase of your notebook.*

For repairs out of the warranty period, the same repair process applies but will be chargeable instead.

Important notice!

Power, telecommunication and Wireless-LAN standards for the model types designated for this VAIO IRSP are only applicable for usage in the country of official sales. Therefore, when using your VAIO notebook overseas, it is your responsibility to ensure that your VAIO notebook will be used in compliance with such specifications.

Sony will not compensate you for damage caused to any material or persons when your VAIO notebook is used in an environment that does not meet the specifications of the VAIO notebook.  In such a case, you will have to bear any repair costs of any defects to your VAIO notebook yourself.


VAIO IRSP does not cover。ュ

-     Cosmetic damages

-     Damage due to:

Ø      Accident, misuse, abuse, negligence, commercial use or modifications to the VAIO notebook

Ø      Improper operation or maintenance of the VAIO notebook

Ø      Connection to improper voltage supply

Ø      Dropping or hitting the Product

Ø      Acts of God

Ø      Attempted repair by any party other than a Sony authorized personal computer service facility.

Ø      Malfunction resulting from the use of the VAIO notebook in conjunction with third-party accessories, products or ancillary or peripheral equipment

Ø      Shipment of the VAIO notebook to a country in which repair is requested

Ø      Cases where the factory-applied serial number has been altered or removed from your VAIO notebook.

In case the repair is not covered by the VAIO IRSP, Sony will contact you to inform you of the repair charge.  

You can choose whether you would like to have your VAIO notebook repaired against payment of the repair

price or whether you prefer to have your VAIO notebook returned to you unrepaired. Should you opt to have

your VAIO notebook returned in an un-repaired state, a flat fee for estimation and logistics will be charged.

Eligible Customers and Products

The International Repair Service Program (。ーIRSP。ア or 。ーService。ア) is available only for the Original Purchasers (。ーCustomer。ア or 。ーYou。ア) who purchase one of the eligible products (。ーthe Product。ア) in their Country of permanent residence (。ーHome Country。ア) and are temporarily located in one of the designated Countries or Area (。ーService Country or Area。ア).  Each Service will be rendered to you by each of the Sony Group affiliated companies in Service Countries or Areas (。ーLocal Sony。ア) by itself or through its third party contractors.  The list of the Products, Home Countries and Service Countries or Area participating and covered by IRSP may be found at http://www.sony.com/irsp/ (。ーthe Web Site。ア). 

Customers may only obtain Service after they have registered the Product at the Web Site and have provided all requested information.  IRSP is not transferable to any subsequent owners of the Product.  Sony Group may, at any time and at its discretion, change the Countries or Area and Products participating in IRSP without any notice.

Term

IRSP is free of charge for a period of twelve (12) months from the original date of purchase of the Product.  Dated proof of purchase is required for registration.  Sony Group may, at any time and at its discretion, change the term of IRSP without any notice.

IRSP may be available for a fee after the twelve month period has expired.  Please contact the Service Country or Area or check the Web Site for details.

Disclaimer and Jurisdiction

Sony Group shall not be liable for any incidental or consequential damages, for breach of any express or implied warranty, breach of contract, negligence, strict liability or any other legal theory related to the product.  Some Countries may not permit the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages.  Any claims arising out of this Service shall be deemed within the jurisdiction of the Service Country or Area and shall be governed by the laws of the Service Country or Area.

Local Sony collects Your personal information (such as Your name, address, phone number and passport number. 。ーPersonal Information。ア) as well as details regarding the Product in connection with providing the Service.   Personal Information will be treated pursuant to Local Sony。ッs personal information management policy.  You may contact the Local Sony for details of such policy.   You can always provide Local Sony with Your latest personal information and/or require us to correct any data which is inaccurate or outdated.
